Q: Do I only see one doctor in the group during my prenatal care, and who is going to deliver my baby when I am in labor?
A: Throughout your prenatal care, you may see only one physician. Babies tend to arrive on their own schedule however, and that might not always match the schedule of your physician.
The providers at Hera Medical Group share 24-hour on call duty. At any time – day or night, weekday or holiday weekend – one of our providers will respond to your medical needs. We recommend that during prenatal care our patients meet each of our providers at least once; that way you know all of the providers who might deliver your baby.
Q: How soon can I get an appointment if I have an urgent medical condition that needs attention?
A: If an urgent medical need arises during our regular business hours, one of our four physicians will be able to see you that same day. Simply call our main number (521-HERA) to speak to our office staff.
If you require attention during non-business hours, you can speak to one of our physicians on 24-hour on-call duty. Your needs can be assessed, and a follow-up appointment with a physician can be arranged if necessary. To reach a physician after hours, call our main office number 521-HERA (4372) and leave a message. Your message will be delivered directly to the physician on duty.
Q: How do I contact my doctor after hours?
A: If you have an urgent matter that requires contact from your physician, please call 209-521-HERA (4372). When asked to do so, please leave a message with your contact information for the on-call physician. Your message will be delivered directly to the physician, and unless otherwise engaged, they will contact you immediately.
We encourage our patients to contact us after hours only for problems requiring immediate medical attention. For other matters (prescription refills, lab test results and the like) please contact us during our regular business hours.
